It came to The Take Three’s attention last week that we were inadvertently leaving Grant Park off our weekly run-down of free outdoor summer movies– our apologies! The Grant Park movies, which began July 14 and will run every Tuesday night through August 24, are actually part of the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival, separate from Chicago Park District’s Movies in the Park series that The Take Three has been profiling. We’ve got our head on straight now though, and below we’ve included both programs in our weekly listing. If you know of any other free summer movie showings we’re missing, please comment and let us know! And here’s to more free movies– and better summer picnic weather. Grab your blanket, and make your way to some free showtimes this week. And although only seven movies will be shown in Grant Park over the course of the summer, the location is easily accessible from the Loop and might be the most convenient for you to get to– so both programs highlighted below certainly have their plus sides.
