Sure enough, with fall in full swing, movie goers have moved past the fright flicks and onto the family ones. Jim Carrey topped the box office this weekend with “A Christmas Carol,” earning $31 million– more than second and third placing “This Is It” ($14 M) and “The Men Who Stare at Goats” ($13.3 M) combined. Can Carrey make the magic last for another six weeks though? We’ve got a few more Christmas-themed flicks on the horizon, including Robert De Niro in “Everybody’s Fine,” so we’ll just wait and see.
