“New Moon” week is upon us

TThis is in no way a real movie poster. This is just a weird, fan-created image, but Jacob Black has been growing on us recently, so we included it. (Flickr/฿lαcĸouт14*)

Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black are back this week with their newest flick in the Twilight saga, “New Moon,” premiering on Friday. Here at The Take Three, we thought there couldn’t be a better way to commemorate this epic event than to blog about it every day, all week, in a countdown format. You may call it overkill, but we call it pure love and dedication.

Today, we take you live to the “Seattle Post Intelligencer,” a newspaper sure to be near and dear to the hearts of Twilight fans since the book is set in the cold and overcast weather of Washington. Their film desk breaks it down for you– five reasons why “New Moon” may well be a good movie after all:

1. New direction. With “American Pie” and “About a Boy” credits to his name, first-time Twilight director Chris Weitz has proven he understands teenagers.
2. New confidence. Just as the “Harry Potter” actors dug into their characters as the series went on, a second time around for the Twilight kids is sure to do them some good.
3. New eye candy. Yes, Jacob Black is cute. But he’s only 17, so we’ll leave it at that!
4. New tunes. Death Cab, Killers and Muse. Need we say more?
5. New tension. With the sequel comes the love triangle, baby, are we’re more than looking forward to it.

Check out all the details here, and tune in every day this week for your up-to-the-minute Twilight coverage. And by the way, we can’t take all the credit for this special blogging week…the idea belongs to our good friend JH. If she had a website or Twitter account we could link you to, we would…but instead, we’ll just thank her profusely.
