Kick ass post.

However, you forgot “Engine No. 9″ by Deftones from the movie “Law Abiding Citizen”. I haven’t seen a disturbing movie moment supplemented by music since “Reservoir Dogs”. It’s an old song but it made that scene.

I have to check out these songs. I saw a bunch of these movies and remembered liking a few. I used to be better about purchasing soundtracks but haven’t lately. The one soundtrack I have heard is “Nine” and I highly recommend it. Thanks for these recommendations!

Nice post – I’m definitely going to check out the tunes you recommend. I need new music. It’s funny – I’m the kind of person that will notice the music in movies and really like it but would never think to follow up on it! Good idea.

Does NINE have nominations for music or no because it’s not original songs written for the film? I thought Fergie’s “Be Italian” was AWESOME in that movie.

Great post!! I agree completely on the Disney front. That duet at the Oscars for Aladdin was booooorrrring!!

Interesting take on the recent soundtracks. I must say I am very intrigued as I had forgotten about the Desolation Row version from The Watchmen (actually completely forgotten about that movie) and I do love that Mushaboom song from Feist.

Question though, you make the leap from original songs to soundtrack songs… What were your favorite original songs this year?
