“Star Wars” redux

As a movie lover, this isn’t something I should admit in such a public forum. But it’s true: Until two years ago, I had never seen any of the “Star Wars” movies. I knew it was a problem and the time had come to take care of it. So I filled my Netflix queue with all six films, took a month or so, and took very, very good notes. It was settled quickly: I was a “Star Wars” convert.

Over the past two years, I think what’s amazed me the most is how ingrained the franchise is in American culture and everyday life– and what’s more, how I never realized that before I watched the movies. So since I had probably missed a good deal the first go-around, I decided the time had come to rewatch the entire series. Star Wars in Concert visited Washington yesterday, and I kicked-off my epic rewatch in its honor.

This time, I’m doing it in story order, so with “Episode I,” I got to re-meet the young and super cute Anny, and Padme with her clever decoying, and my favorite, Obi-Wan, as an apprentice. And I have to say, I’ve missed them, and I’m looking forward to watching their story unfold.

Again…
